FROM THE STUDIO TO THE WORLD
~
A four day Professional Development workshop for Painters with Christopher Webb ~

Monday, August 24 - Thursday, August 27, 2026
Daily 9:30am - 4:30pm = 24 total hours + Exhibition

From the Studio to the World is a four-day professional development workshop designed for painters (working in both oil or acrylic) who want to take their work seriously and begin exhibiting professionally. Many artists spend years developing their technical skills but remain unsure how to transition from making individual paintings to building a thoughtful and sustainable artistic practice. This workshop focuses on that transition.

Participants will learn how to develop a cohesive body of work, articulate their artistic ideas, write professional materials such as artist statements and CVs, and present their work confidently to galleries and audiences. We will also discuss studio practice, scale, sequencing work for exhibitions, websites, social media presence, and how to build relationships with galleries, curators, and collectors.

Throughout the workshop we will also be working concurrently on a series of small paintings. These studio sessions will be used as a way to examine how ideas evolve into projects and how individual works begin to form a larger body of work. Rather than focusing on the question “What should I paint?”, the workshop encourages artists to move toward a deeper and more sustainable question: “Why should I paint?”

Designed for painters who are ready to move beyond casual practice and develop a more serious artistic trajectory, this workshop offers practical tools, honest insights, and a supportive environment for artists who want to begin sharing their work publicly. Here is a tentative agenda that is meant to be a guide for what will be covered in the workshop:
